BIOGRAFIA
Sara Fuga in arte SistaSara è nata a Venezia, in Italia, da madre italiana e padre nigeriano.
Ex cantante e batterista di accompagnamento in numerose band e progetti in Italia dal 1995 al 2003.
Trasferitasi a Londra, Regno Unito, nella primavera del 2003, ha iniziato a studiare musica con la sua prima DAW, creando il suo primo home studio e dando vita al suo progetto di musica solista: SistaSara.
I primi quattro album completi presentavano molti strumenti acustici intrecciati con la programmazione digitale, mentre dal 2012 in poi Sara si è concentrata sempre di più sul sound design.
La scena di Londra Dub è stata un’influenza cruciale nel suo sviluppo musicale ed è un fattore chiave nella sua identità musicale.
Sara è ora un produttore di musica Dub sperimentale indipendente, accanto alle sue produzioni da solista, collabora con altri produttori come cantautrice e cantante e occasionalmente lavora come produttore con altri cantanti.
Sara si è trasferita a Oakland, in California, nell’estate 2015.
Londra è ancora la sua città natale e le sue produzioni ne sono un chiaro riflesso.
Nel 2019 Sara ha pubblicato tre album completi:
“Universal”, una versione reggae a 12 tracce trasmessa in streaming su più programmi radiofonici online e podcast tra cui BBC Radio, è stato recensito anche sulla rivista The Wire ed è stato elogiato per essere un album interamente femminile, in un settore decisamente maschile.
“My Perception”, un album sperimentale di 11 brani pubblicato sotto il suo alter ego Hermes X,
con musica elettronica, influenzata principalmente da Trip Hop, Downtempo, Psy Dub e Electronica.
“Universal Dub”, una versione psichedelica dub dell’album Universal, un musical molto ipnotico.
